# Java gate demonstration: rejection and repair

Recorded 6 September 2026. This is a controlled, contemporary demonstration using a synthetic Java 21 eligibility policy. No customer data was used.

## Attempt 1: defective candidate

- Commit: `f98773904b2bdedea87fc138a55ceda9aa5ab8e0`
- GitHub Actions run: `34075238511`
- Result: 9 tests, 1 failure in the cross-tenant test. ArchUnit checks passed.

## Attempt 2: repaired candidate

- Commit: `96d725bb7621874f5301175855958f55c3c0a884`
- GitHub Actions run: `34075373975`
- Result: 9 tests, 0 failures, 0 errors, 0 skipped tests.

SHA-256 comparisons confirmed identical test files, Maven POM, and workflow between the two attempts. The repair changed the implementation; the acceptance checks remained unchanged.

## Protection configured after the demonstration runs

The following protection was subsequently enabled on `main`:

| Setting | Recorded configuration |
| --- | --- |
| Required status checks | `verify`; `Java compile, tests and architecture` |
| Expected check source | GitHub Actions, App 15368 |
| Up-to-date requirement | Strict |
| Pull request required | Yes |
| Restrictions apply to administrators | Yes |
| Force pushes | Disabled |
| Branch deletion | Disabled |
| Required approving reviews | 0 |

Independent human approval is not required by this configuration. Both recorded demonstration runs occurred before these protections were enabled.

## Interpretation and limits

The trace demonstrates deterministic rejection of the seeded defect and a later passing repair under unchanged checks. It does not prove that a merge was blocked during either run: branch protection was enabled afterward. The settings describe the subsequent enforcement configuration, not an observed earlier rejection by branch protection.

This demonstration does not establish full AISDLC-CQ conformance, independent human approval, or separation of the agent's identity from the operator's identity. It does not establish production behavior or customer outcomes. Other clauses require their own evidence.

## Source access

Source record: pull request `37`. Supporting commits, run logs, and artifacts remain private and are available for authorized review. The commit and run identifiers above preserve traceability without exposing repository links. This document is the public evidence summary and is not a public mirror of the source repository.
